Not just one party – many parties.

Back in the 1950’s I worked on a research project for which we collected reports of the conversation at a number of parties. Recently I had occasion to look again at the unpublished reports of that project, and I found them still interesting, still valid.

I decided to select the most important points from that research, and present them here. In the process of doing that, I gained some fresh ideas about the nature of party conversation, and these are explained in the report featured here on my website.
